Alibi on camping

I have often been in a public match with my squad where we are called "camping noobs" or the like. I have often struggled with justifying camping in my own mind as well, as this may be frustrating if the team we are playing against is camping and we have no choice but to try and flush them out to regain control of the match. This post will look at some of the conclusions I have drawn as far as acceptable vs. unacceptable camping tactics.
Personally, as a squad leader in one of the largest clans I have ever seen, I instruct my squad to hold tactical positions. I can't go into further detail on that for obvious reasons (potential opponents reading this post comes to mind). I can see how this would be frustrating to opposing teams because if our initial rush nets us a couple kills, we can settle into our hold-points and attack opponents from cover. That or we can sit out the ten-minute timer.
But what is "camping?" In my eyes, if your team notices the opposition rushing constantly, then settling into a tactical hold-point is not camping. These games are all about getting the most kills with the fewest deaths (duh), and to do so successfully you have to adapt your strategy. For example, if an opposing player is constantly rushing the wooden bridge on rundown, why would you continue to rush and meet him/her head on? It is just common sense.
Now, we come to camping off the bat. This is pretty ridiculous. I have reffed matches where teams will simply sit in their spawn and wait for the opposing team's members to come by. I mean come on. Play the game and show some skill. If both teams just camp their own spawn, the round will end in a tie and we will be perpetually stuck on a map until the end of time (or until someone lags out and that team forfeits. Stop camping in your spawn. Play the game the way is was meant to be played.
“But I'm sniping.” Good for you, does your team need four snipers? I sincerely doubt it. The only two times I find camping acceptable is if you are doing so to limit your deaths because the other team is rushing, or if you are playing defense on an objective game type.
I'll step off of my soapbox now, just thought I would throw my two cents out there. Feel free to hate me for my opinion, in the end I'm the guy that sneaks past you cover and assassinates you from behind.

I try to approach these games with a very REAL feeling, if someone dropped an assault riffle into my hands, put me on a map in the middle of no where, and told me that about 6-8 other soldiers are coming at me shooting to kill....Well I would get out of the way, and try to control the situation so that I can shoot you while your moving and distracted. It's just the first instinct that comes to mind, because its real.
Show me some one in our advanced armies of the world today that would go running into the middle of an area guns blazing, and I'll show you someone that's about to get fired/killed. Simple as that.

Prove-It!
