I can understand of some of you older than I might be a little put out by this blog but this is about me not you so tough luck.
I play footie each week and of course as each year goes my injuries take longer to get back into it. Surprisingly with age I have not slowed down too much, still pretty fast.
My current injury can hardly be called an injury at all but either way, I still feel the pain 12 days after I 'bumped' into another footballer. OK so it was a hefty 'bump' and he was a big lad, plenty of weight on his side which had me almost fall to the ground if it were not for my quick feet but even so, it's not like he elbowed me in the ribs.
I have had two prevsious rib injuries both only bruising but both had me out for two months and again both were handed to me by some real shitty players, in otherwords they didn't mind dishing out the dirt.
For the last couple of years now I have been removing myself from games a month prior to any holidays. Taking an injury and then going on holiday is not funny when you SCUBA Dive for most of it. Try it with bruised ribs or one leg. So it's not new to me that I am not as young as I used to be.
12 days ago, I simply 'bumped' into someone and I can still feel the soreness. It will be OK for the next game but I still missed a game and I gotta say, I feel old.
