Hey, I am still extremely new to Coding and programming, so I need help with this. I am trying to build a program to find stats for your user on a website. If any of you use HaloCharts.com, then similar to that. You put in your user name on the site, and the program returns all kinds of stats for it. I am using Visual C# Express 2010, and my main problem is that I don't know how to make the system access that information.

database all the information, and add a auto update fuction, whenever a new member plays a certain game. you mean something like that?

I went to the website you mentioned and it has a goodbye message. I am not sure what system it used as it does not work anymore. Any other example?

What stats did it show?

Are you trying to track stats for users on your own website as a web admin?

Are you trying to see stats on any website as a general user?

If you let me know what kind of stuff you want to track and if this is for your own website or what?


Also, good to know what kind of website as well. For example, if you are using a WordPress based website, then Wordpress has a vast community that you can search where tons of people have developed various applications you can install on your web server to track things.

If you are running a Vbulletin site, there are tools VB allows to track anyway.

If you are running a stand alone website you are making or run on your own using common website coding, there are still tons of other ways to track user info. There are some third party apps that can do that for you. Some you pay for, some are free. Google Anaytics for example can do many things. You open and Google Analytic account, get the tracking code, dump it to your server and add to all pages, then it tracks info for you. You can see the data on your site, you have to go to the Google page to see it, but it tracks real time info and past info as well.

Tons of ways for tons of variations of website.

Depends on what you want and what kind of site you have.

I would use Google's Ajax API and some crafty PHP code if I were you. C# doesn't seem like the correct way to approach this problem.

Anyway, add all of the information to a database and consult this regarding the displaying of information using an AJAX database.
