How about a good old legacy game like Quake 2? I'd be happy to put in the time to make this a reality. As for driving traffic here I can see that happening too. It drove me here
A friend and myself were planning a type of manual ladder tonight when the thought of trying to get it hosted crossed my mind. I participate in the new US/EURO UT99 Sniper/Camping 5v5 Ladder that just started and am very pleased with how fraggednation is managing it. So the thought of getting our Quake 2 ladder here is appealing.
But I also thought that there are still quite a lot of Quake 2 players out there. I am thinking that if you build it they will come. I'll let them know where to go anyway
It is my hope that the powers that be at FN will contact me, either here or privately, and we can discuss this. While not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, I do tech support for a game hosting company, so I an no noob either

How about Day of defeat, we have half-life and half-life2, it would be a nice add on to those 2 games
Do you think you'll be able to get the people that play that game to come to FN to compete? That would be awesome if you did. What I did to get Q3 peeps to come here was post in all the clans forums and to let the server spam 'Come to FraggedNation.com to compete' every few minutes so people who are playing know. It helps also if you are cool with a lot of the clan leaders. The more the merrier is what I say. Build it, they will come... as long as you spread the word.

Definitely played that too... I could never get into Duke because it was so over-the-top though. Vintage Doom as definitely my favorite - that was back when IPX/SPX was the ONLY way to play via LAN. Wasn't much different for us at the time though since to play over the modem it was the same concept!

And to answer the Day of Defeat question brought up earlier... we don't add games for game-mods - rather we add the base game and let ladders define the Modification. For Day of Defeat, we would ask that a private ladder (or public with enough interest!) be created under the Half-Life game category.
