Subject: IGA NHL 12 XBOX League - Signups Now Open
The newly created IGA (International Gaming League) has opened it's signups to the first set of IGA leagues. There will be no more than 60 members total accepted in the first leagues.
An IGA formatted league is made up of a select amount of members and divided up into divisions and conferences. Matches are scheduled and all teams play the same number of matches in a league's season. It operates similar to any professional sports league in the way competition is organized into standings and playoffs.
The league schedule, scores, and standings will be kept track of and posted through the forums. This is an experimental league and will have a season of 2 months.
Leagues created from the sign up page will consist of 15 participants and there will be no more than 4 leagues. First come first serve.
Matches are schedule by the week and every participant will be given 2-3 opponents to play in a week. During a week the participants are responsible for completing their matches with their opponent and reporting it.
Each league will consist of an 18 game season. There will be 3 divisions of 5 participants. You will play every division opponent twice and every league member once.
At the end of the regular season there will be playoffs. The 8 teams will make the playoffs. Division leaders will take the top three seeds. The next five will be regardless of division.
Standings are ranked like the NHL.
Leagues will begin play in mid March.
