Does anyone out there have a high end machine with a very good bandwidth and upload speed?

I hosted the last broadcast and my upload speed was very slow thus the video was choppy. Not to mention there were so many people complaining about it. You think they thought I was running DOS on a 14.4 modem all the complaining people did.

Next time I would like to get a better live stream but I need to make sure I test some more of find someone with a good machine and excellent upload speed.

Anyone?

You don't need a high end system to broadcast. When I was broadcasting the semi's people said my stream was good. I had my graphics turned down to lowest possible in terms of details n stuff too.

I'll broadcast matches I'm not in and I'll even turn on all the pretty visual effects I normally leave off

My system is on the high end. My download speed is 10mb/sec, but I think my upload is only like 1.5mb/sec. How high of a resolution can that stream broadcast? Would be cool to have it for the 1v1 final.

Even better, if people could submit their demo so others can see.

I have been reading more about it.

You dont need a great rig like Legacy said. You need a minimum of 500kbps upload, have to have the visual settings of the desktop and games low (lower than I normally use that is).

FPS was 25 (default) and resolution of the broadcast I could have lowered, same for some other things.

also I did have my gaming rig running the broadcast, but since I was in full screen mode, that changed it too. Since I was full screen, I used my work laptop to monitor the broadcast, for vent, xfire and respond to chats in the broadcast. I was killing my own connection pretty much.

I will be testing out configurations over the next little while to see how it goes.

Would be good to get others to try though

I think if we can forgo procaster altogether would be better. Instead use a .mov to broadcast AND shoutcast matches. I know some people that really wanted to shoutcast but I don't think you can really do it with procaster.

Procaster plays any sound coming through your own speakers. It's easy enough to join a vent server or xfire chat with 1 or 2 people who can do the voice work. It would actually work out better as they would be working off the video feed as opposed to the live feed so the delay wouldn't be as big.

The only downside is the person doing to camera work / running Procaster can't talk.

I think the biggest downside is the 50 person limit. If you were to broadcast a match using some other media you would either have everyone streaming the match from you which is way too much bandwidth or broadcasting to another site.
