MOVED: Bungie's New Project: Destiny
Subject: Bungie's New Project: Destiny
You all should know that Bungie, the creator of the halo(s) have left the halo franchise. Who did they turn Halo over to? 343i (343Industries) took over the halo company. So what happen to bungie? They did not just leave for good, they left halo because they wanted to move on and make bigger and better things. They have just started a new project called "Destiny".
Here is a little bit about where is starts off-
"Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man's Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it's here for, but only that it's our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young 'knights' tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and - eventually - overcoming it."
Bungie wrote: "We're not quite ready to take the wraps off our next universe, but in light of recent events we thought we'd give fans something a little more official over at Bungie.net Feel free to drop by and say hello! There's much more to come."
"The name Destiny first emerged in May when court documents revealed details on four games in the series. At the time, installments in the Destiny series were revealed to be coming in fall 2013, fall 2015, fall 2017 and fall 2019. In 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020, downloadable expansions known as "Comet" were also said to be planned."
"The contract suggested the first Destiny game would be available first on Xbox 360 as well as "the next successor console platform released by Microsoft," which the contract referred to as Xbox 720. Releases on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC were said to be planned in the years following, though today's information suggests a more closely timed release could be a possibility."

Awesome! I heard some stories about this development for awhile now. Looks like it's going to be good. Hopefully on release we can get some support for it to be on FN.

It still has the halo feeling, wich i like. Can't wait for release. Rumour are they will release late 2013!!. I will support this all the way!

I am curious to see what it will come out like. Just looking at it makes it seem very Halo-ish. I bet it will be a great game, just can't wait to see more on it soon!

its always been something ive been interested in but never had the pc for.
This definitely is going to be exciting. And for both PS3 and Xbox! Not that I play PS3, but it's nice to see them expanding to different platforms. I already have a copy pre-ordered at my local GameStop. I'm a little hesitant at the thought of it being an MMO-FPS, but I heard that it's only speculation right now.
They said that there wouldn't be a subscription fee, so that worry about the MMO is gone for me. I think it will be interesting to see how Bungie twists the FPS genre.
Oh I agree. I'm confident that whatever it is, I'm going to like it.

The pictures make the game tempting to me. They are darn beautiful. I'm not really into Halo because i'm not an Xbox person, but Destiny sounds super neat. Thanks for making a thread about it!
