Subject: If you installed IE8 and want to go back to IE7 OH NO
I wanted to check out IE8 to see what it was like.
IE8 was OK but after some crashes do some some incompatibility problems. I uninstalled and thought all was ok.
I post many Computer Fixes in out T5K Forums and wanted to share some with our FN peeps
The Best thing to do to see Errors with XP is to go to Start/Help and Support/Use Tools/Advance System Infomation/View the Error Log
Here you will see all the Error which is not good.
After IE8 Uninstall here is the Error from the logs.
Userenv
Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C 5DBFC5D} and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.

The Fix
The cause is that some of the Internet Explorer 8 registry keys were not removed when it was uninstalled. These keys do not affect the operation of Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7.
To resolve this error, delete the following registry keys:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogonGPExtensions]
{7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE} = Internet Explorer User Accelerators
{CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} = Internet Explorer Machine Accelerators

why do you want to remove IE8 to go back to IE7? There is a compatibility button right next to your URL bar that loads IE7 instead of IE8 (not just the rendering engine, its litteraly as if you had IE7...)

IE8 crashed to many time do to not liking WSFTP
Which I use to Admin Servers and this is why I uninstalled. IE7 has the Fav list that IE8 does not have.
I use Firefox more these days and 3.5 will be out soon

Yea its indeed good help, windows registry is a just a big mess and hard to find what you want =D lol
Never heard of IE8 crashing like that tho... i use it daily at work and never had a crash... that's weird =P
And of course using firefox is recommended
lol and btw look for the extension fireFTP if you need FTP's alot... i find it kinda useful really
