I think it would be better to have only 1 sniper/G-MAL user as they can be potentially the most effective weapons and could be game changers.

I'm not sure if shorts games would work, it could just mean a lot of camping once one team gains an upper hand.

Sounds good , should also think about limiting boosters and also have no attachments. Would be rugged

wut?

Look at my last post on the scrim thread. Trying to implement a popular mode for COD4 and other COD's implemented by European players. Discuss.

To be completely honest I am not sure how much support this would get from the community. If people prefer using a certain gun then thats just how it is.

This game doesn't need more factors to discourage people from playing. Not to mention I would hardly consider this a top priority. As far as I'm concerned the fact that we can't play all OBJ's individually shows how far the term "bare minimum" can be stretch too.

It's more of a competitive community aspect than it is anything else.

I would like it, but I don't like being relegated to using say only the Para 9... I have joint issues that prevent me from using single shot weapons like the FAL and Para 9 well.

At best I can weakly tap it a few times before I get pain ;_;

maybe if we have team division for long guns, could we possibly have this for sidearms as well?

Trying my best to be Cordial and Competitive.

Decerto rules were always much better than MLG rules on CoD and they seem to always want to make an universal ruleset but it never happens. But the way the rules are now are pretty much what the "Decerto" version would be. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no map randomiser in place?
Btw Squid the PS3 version of Decerto is called EUeSports.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, I'd certainly like to try it one night in scrims whereby I could then actually give my opinion on it.

As it stands, it sounds interesting, beyond that though can't say I can give much more of my opinion on it.

I don't like the idea of turning off power weapons since it would remove all motivation to control strategic parts of the map and influence teams to just hunker down and camp together in the same concentrated area all match. They aren't really necessary in objectives so I wouldn't care if they were turned off in those modes, but you really need PWs in Deathmatch modes otherwise the game rewards buckling down in one area of the map and not moving far too much. I've played no PW customs in UC2 are they were atrocious 20-minute long campfests with neither team reaching the max kills. I remember an infamous 20-minute long Fort match that ended in a 1-1 tie. Luckily, I wasn't in this match, but just hearing about it led me to never play a "serious" custom match ever again. I'd rather watch paint dry than play another match where neither team gets anywhere near the 50-kill limit.

I don't think friendly fire is necessary, either, since FF is automatic and can't be turned off on explosives in this game. However, that's just my personal opinion and I don't have a huge argument on that front.

As far as the limitations on weapons, I would reserve judgment until we tried it out in certain customs but I really don't think we need it. It seems like it would be a good idea in a game like Counter-Strike where the AWP was far and away the most effective gun in the right hands and it became a pain in the ass when entire teams were using it, but none of the guns in this game are runaway favorites or completely unmatched. GMAL is probably the most used, but I have seen players be just as effective with the AK or Dragon.

On UC2 we in Europe got rid of TDM altogether as well as power weapons, and we would on this game if the team objective modes were able to be split in customs. My personal preference would be for Plunder Team Objective Plunder but doubt the majority of people here would agree with that.

Plunder-Team Objective-(and last) Team Deathmatch could be a compromise.

I'm right there with you. I can't stand TDM as a competitive mode. Slow paced and doesn't require a lot of movement.

I'm going to start working on a design for this "concept" this week. If you jump into scrims with me expect them to be team based and a slow implementation of similar Decerto/ProMod rules to see if this catches on.
