Subject: Q3 Punkbuster No longer Supported
Hi all,
It seems that the guys at evenbalance have decided to withdraw support for Quake 3 arena.
This will mean that Punkbuster can no longer be updated the usual way.
The good news is, that the servers that still run PB should be able to continue as normal.
But, the major problem in all this is that anyone without the latest version will no longer be able to update it via the pb setup program.
But do not worry,
I have a solution.
I've uploaded my own fully updated pb folder for anyone who needs it.
It's in RAR format so all you need to do is extract the pb folder into your Quake 3 arena one.

It should work as iv'e tested it with some of my teammates successfully.
If anyone has any views or problems feel free to post them here.

Thx mutant a lot in my clan dont have the pb update and sometimes i have to turn off pb on our server for that members i will check it with our members GJ
So your punkbuster won't be updated anymore?

Extract the RAR files, then put the PB folder into your Quake3arena directory to replace the existing one.
your a saint for posting that man.... you saved me a sht ton of hastle..... 
im getting a pnkbstrA error.... anyone know where i can get ahold of that file? i think that one goes in the windows/system32 folder......
nvm... got it... had to run the pbsvc.exe (advice from matthew)...... got it from the evenbalance site http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsvcfaq.php ..... and now im not getting pnkbstrA.exe error.....

I should have mentioned that my uploaded pb folder would only work if your q3a was previously installed with some older version.
A fresh install would require the exe file as you now know.
I was actually on my way to upload the exe file, but now that you've found that link there's no need.
