Season Dates
Subject: Season Dates
this could be a total no brainer but i think it would make season management and advertisement of new events more efficient. the only problem i see is what would the 4 main season dates be lol

For some games and platforms that may work, while others it is more of an issue.
For example, there are some games here on the site that have mixed European and North American teams. So scheduling is more time consuming as there has to be timing for both sides of the ocean. With holidays happening in different countries at different times that makes things harder.
Another reason is school and work. The younger players are still in school and have to schedule playing around homework, tests and school vacations. The older players have to schedule playing around family holidays, work, traveling for work, family time, etc.
So there are some games like you said that can be maybe moved into set seasons, but playing those seasons will mean having all the teams players ready to go as well..
January 1st-March 31st, April 1st-June 31st, July 1st-September 31st, October 1st-December 31st.
I dont really see it making much of a difference though imo.

Season Dates would be fairly simple. Theres 12 months and 4 seasons. So 4 3 Month Seasons.January 1st-March 31st, April 1st-June 31st, July 1st-September 31st, October 1st-December 31st.
i like this it would make things universal regardless of place in the world
One thing that you may not have thought of is that we often have sponsored tournaments or ladders. This means that the sponsor may wish the event to start or end at specific times, so this may make things different in that respect.
Also, being a part of this community for many years, I have seen seasons last 1 months and others 3 months.
There are different types of gamers in different games and some of them loose interest in long seasons. A 3 month season may not last since most of the gamers may give up trying to challenge and play people for 3 months if they can see 1 or 2 teams or players way out in front on the standings and they themselves are far behind. They often give up and dont come back. I have seen it happen many times.
In theory your thought is great, but in reality there are tons of gamers that get bored fast...
Can anyone think of a way that a set timeframe for seasons can work and still keep gamers interested and not loose interest in ladders that some players start running away with?
