UPDATE: Prove It FAQ's
Subject: UPDATE: Prove It FAQ's
What is Prove-It, anyway?
Prove it is a way for anyone to post an "Open" challenge, which can then be accepted by anyone at any time. This challenge is not tied to a Ladder or Tournament, so no signups for specific competitions are necessary. The challenger defines the Platform, Game, and all Match rules. If someone wants to play this match, they simply need to accept and propose a time to play - it's that easy! It's designed to be a very flexible match engine to get people playing non-structured matches just for fun, to run a scrimmage for upcoming ladder match, and also a way to easily coordinate exactly WHEN a match will be played with potentially far away gaming friends.
So how does it work?
A Prove-It match starts with someone posting a challenge. You can specify the game of your choosing, the settings of your choosing, and when you can play. The Prove-It system walks you through every step, but the specific details of your post might look like this:

Ok, now what?
From there, the challenge is open for ANY member to accept. So if you play a really mean bass guitar, you might see this challenge and think,I could win this one! If you are willing to put 20 of your hard-earned credits on the line, you can then accept the Prove-It Challenge. Once accepted, the participants are given an easy way to finalize a play date and time that works for both of them.
Hold on - what are the Credits all about?
Credits = Money! Cold, hard cash. You are able to purchase credits and store them in your FN account. Pull em out and lay them on the line any time you want to either post a challenge or accept one, you can also use them for buy ins to private and public ladders/tournaments on the site!! If you win, the credits go to you (minus a little something for the house, of course). So if you think you're the best of the best, put your money where your mouth is, and Prove-It!
What if I just want to play a pick-up game?
You'd go through all the same steps just leave the credits at zero. The Prove-It system isn't only for professionals. It's just another way for FN members to show off their skillz and have a little friendly competition. The Prove-It system encompasses everything from "just for fun" to "title match" to scrimmages to prepare for an upcoming ladder match.. and anything else you can dream up!
I have accepted a Challenge and am ready to Prove It!
When you accepted the challenge, a Date and Time was proposed. You can choose to wait for the Challengee to accept/decline this request, or you can post additional Date/Time requests. If the Challengee does not respond to an accepted challenge, you may back out at any time without losing any credits. Once a challenge has been confirmed (one of the 2 involved parties accepted a Date/Time request) it is no longer possible to back out of the challenge
What if my opponent doesn't show up?
First and foremost be sure to have a screenshot showing a date/time to prove you were where you needed to be at the proper time. Secondly, you may suggest a new Date/Time to play the match, or alternatively report the match as a win in your favor. Opponents are obligated to appear as confirmed in the Match Details once it has been confirmed. Failure to appear is a forfeiture of match (and any credits wagered). Most importantly (as stated above) be sure to have as much proof as possible that you were, in fact, in the proper place at the proper time. Failure to provide proof could result in match deletion and credits reset. Once you have the proof make sure you submit a support ticket so the Prove It admin may investigate it.
Someone accepted my match but we never agreed on a time. What do I do?
From the Challenge Management area, click the "Prove-It!" tab, and then click the "My Accepted Challenges" sub tab. From there simply locate your challenge and click the edit button. On the next screen, you have the option to "Back Out" of the challenge, which will then reset it so that another member may accept your Prove-It! challenge.
And a final note:
This thread was created specifically for the Prove-It system. If you participate in either posting or accepting a challenge, give us your feedback here. Did the challenge run smoothly? Do you plan to use the credits, or are you just in it for the glory? How can we improve the process or system?
