XBOX360: Battlefield 3

Hello Fraggers !

Just here to give you all an update of what we know currently about the private server situation.As you know running the activity's here for battlefield 3 we wanted to is near impossible without the private server option. So we have been keeping an eye for news and information. We expect private servers to be added soon as the increasing number of DICE moderators are mentioning it and asking questions to the community.

We recently found a post by a DICE moderator at Battlelog reading:

BF3 Update The ability to rent a server is being added to Battlefield 3 on consoles

Serious??? I'd love to have private servers on console. Annoying to not be able to train with friends or just look around on maps without having randoms join in. I like to explore the maps.

Yeah they are adding that. you will have to pay for it but you can change things like ticket count and i believe the map rotation so you can play maps that you want and keep the ones you don't want out and more stuff along those lines. It will be a great addition

I see a nice event coming in the near future when this is all added.

Keep the comments and information coming so we can get something rocking for sure.

I would just like to know how much it is going to cost to rent your own server. Is it going to be by the hour, day, week, or month? Are there gonna be a limited offer of them or can tons of people have their own?

It's per month, each month I believe is about 30-40 dollars a month this is based on PC though so we shall see if the numbers are different.
There will be tons not just limited amount.

The rent a server function will be coming along with the next patch. So for PS3 they will have it tomorrow but Xbox is still unknown when the patch will land but when it does we can rent a server.

Why are they releasing something that big on just one platform? I know none of us have the answer to that question it is just irratating when you are an Xbox player, and have to sit around waiting for something to allow you to train/play on a pro level.

According to BF3Blog this is what they have to say about console servers rental.

As promised, the Battlefield 3 patch is now available to download for PlayStation 3 owners. The patch, version 1.04, is quite big, weighing in at 1080 MB. In addition to all the fixes we previously reported, the new patch also includes updates to the Wake Island map, which now supports 5 flags.
The new update also introduces the server rental program for consoles, where servers can be rented for 1 day and up to 90 days. Here are the current console server prices:
1 day: $1.49
7 days: $6.99
30 days: $24.99
90 days: $64.99
Game servers are in limited availability at the moment, and according to sources, they?re already sold out.

Bama what was your source on this information? I am asking because I am just curious if this is strictly for PS3 or if it just general info.
