About Me:
What is the IGA?
The IGA is the International Gaming Association. It is the new up and coming Semi-Professional Gaming League. The IGA is continuously growing and expanding to more games and platforms.
Goals:
1. To give the gaming community organized competition.
2. To reward talented gamers.
3. To serve gamers. Not to be served by gamers.
Forms of competition:
Ladders: Ladders are designed for long-term running competition in a top-down position based system; Ideally for competition that will span several weeks or months and allowing anyone in the standings to challenge another member to play as many matches as they wish.
Tournaments: Tournaments are designed to be a one-off competition in a Bracket style position system. That means that potentially a person signed up may only get to play a single match in a Tournament that runs several weeks. Tournaments are great for establishing a single winner over the course of several scheduled matches, but there is no long-term competition as with Ladders.
Leagues: IGA leagues are made up of a select amount of members and divided up into divisions and conferences. Matches for leagues are scheduled and all teams play the same number of matches in a league's season. It operates similar to the NBA or any professional sports league in the way competition is organized.
