Please make sure your teams are aware of the new approaching seasons. We are also asking for your help to see if the existing teams can start talking in game to other and new players telling them there are places to find competition ladders for the thrill and the fun.

With much effort from several UT3 players in the community, Fragged Nation is proud to announce the addition of the FN UT3 iRC Channel.
Thank you Infra' and the other UT3 players out there that have worked hard to make this happen.
For all those gamers that use iRC to chat to others and find pick up games, please log on and check it out:
Fragged Nation UT3 iRC Channel
The link above is the web based version of the channel.
For the rest of you that do not use iRC, there are still many ways for you to get pick up games.
1) Use the "Prove-It!" link in the middle tab of the main FN menu screen.
Here you can post open challenges for any game type and any day and time. You can even bet your buddy $1 or $2 that you can mop the floor with them by betting credits. Why not make some money from playing the games you enjoy?
2) Use the "Match Finder" inside many of the ladders on FN.
In the ladders that you have signed up to, there is this tab for teams and players to make open challenges for set times and dates when they are available. Then other players and teams can check when an open challenge has been posted and can accept right away rather than looking for someone to challenge and waiting for a reply.
Also for those of you that may not already know, Fragged Nation has also launched a live stream channel.
Fragged Nation LiveStream Channel
This is a channel similar to youtube in some respects where pick up games, ladder and tournament match videos are uploaded and everyone can go and watch them, either in the video player or full screen.
This channel however will also be used to broadcast LIVE events. We can stream live matches as they happen. Viewers can come out and watch players and teams battling it out for supremacy. Viewers can also chat with each other as the match goes on and the channel will be run by some of the admin staff here at FN.
Things are very exciting at Fragged Nation right now. Lets hope you all have fun and take advantage of the great services and features that FN has to offer you, the gamer.
Frag on!

To those interested in the vCTF tournament:
Unfortunately due to lack of interest from the community we unfortunately have to cancel the UT3 vCTF 5v5 Tournament.
All of us here at FraggedNation were hoping that more players and teams would sign up. Two full teams did manage to buy into the tournament and another two teams on the wait list.
However for a cash prize tournament it was a requirement to have at least 6 teams and we fell short of that mark. A tournament with the 2 teams that paid, or even if all teams paid to make it 4, it would not have made a very good event.
Our apologies go out to the community and especially to those teams that did sign up, but it is beyond our control as the players did not come out to support this event. Those players that did pay the entrance fee will be refunded in due course.
Lets hope we can regroup and continue the ladders and take our frustrations out on your ladder opponents.

Signups have officially opened for the two UT3 tournaments being run next weekend, 08-28.
Details are as follows:
1st Tournament:
Type: 2v2 TDM
Style: Single Elimination
Buy-In (per player): 5 Credits
FN Sponsored amount: 125 Credits
Payout: 285cr (16 teams) to 445cr (32 teams)
http://www.fraggednation.com/tournament/pc/unreal-tournament-3/Big-Cash-for-Kickin-Ash-TDM-588
2nd Tournament:
Type: 5v5 vCTF
Style: Single Elimination
Buy-In (per player): 5 Credits
FN Sponsored amount: 125 Credits
Payout: 525cr (16 teams) to 925cr (32 teams)
http://www.fraggednation.com/tournament/pc/unreal-tournament-3/Big-Cash-for-Kickin-Ash-vCTF-5v5-608
Prize Allocation for both tournaments are as follows:
1st place - 75%
2nd place - 25%
Since there is no 3rd place in single elimination, we have excluded this from this set of tournaments.
As you can see from the payout examples, it's in everyone's best interest to spread the word, and/or even participate in both! A measely 5cr buy in can yield a huge return!
An email will be dispatched to all current UT3 players tomorrow afternoon with links to both tournaments, and the tournaments will show the information above for reference.
Any comments that take this thread off topic will be removed without warning. This is our last ditch effort to get everyone together in the UT3 community and offer up some prizes, so please be constructive.

As it was suggested, this thread is for people to discuss what settings, maps and rules they would like amended, changed, deleted or added.
First Item is would you like the team size to be moved from 6 to 5?
I know 2 teams have had issues with shrinking team sizes and this may help.
Here is the list thus far (will be edited each time an item is requested):
1) Reduce from 6v6 to a 5v5 ladder
2) X-Ray (trial or mandatory)
3) X-Ray Mutator to log Unique ID's of players
4) Removal of inactive teams (done!)
Please indicate your question or request.

Topic: Euro UT3 1v1 Duel Season 1
Posted By: drjacobs
We will be giving away a Razer Mamba gaming mouse just for playing in the UT3 1v1 Duel Season 2 or the Euro UT3 1v1 Duel Season 1 ladder which will run from September 1 to December 31, 2009. You do not even need to win 1 match to win the prize, you just need to play. The more you play the greater your odds are to win. You will never find greater odds to win a prize anywhere else, and you determine your odds! There is no fee to participate. See rules below.
Rules
Regular Season
You need to play a minimum of 8 matches (not counting forfeits) in the regular season before you earn any points. Once you reach 8 matches you will be given 4 points. You will then receive 0.5 points for each additional match you play above the minimum 8 matches up to a total of 15 points or 30 matches in the regular season. You can earn even more points if you participate in the playoffs.
*Bonus= 1st player to reach 8 matches in the league will earn 1 bonus point.
Playoffs
If you fail to meet the 8 match minimum in the regular season, there is still a way to earn some points. As long as you play a minimum of 4 matches (not counting forfeits) you will be eligible to participate in the playoffs and earn up to 10 points. Here is how the point system works in the playoffs.
Winners Bracket
Win= 2 points
Loss= 1 point
Forfeit Win = 1 point
1st Forfeit Loss= -1 point (yes you can lose points in the playoffs)
2nd Forfeit Loss= -2 points
Losers Bracket
Win= 1.5 points
Loss= 1 point
Forfeit Win= 0.5 points
1st Forfeit Loss= -1 point
2nd Forfeit Loss= -2 points
Championship Bracket
Winner= 2 points
Loser= 1 point
-Forfeits will not be counted towards the prize.
-You can play the same opponent as many times as you like for the ladder, but only a max of 2 matches per opponent will count toward the prize. (We may allow more matches in Euro ladder until it is more established).
-You must upload screenshots of each map to qualify your match to prevent people from reporting a match they never really played. Not providing a screenshot may prevent match from counting toward the prize.
-We ask you keep a demo of each match in case we ask to verify a match. Not being able to provide a demo when asked may prevent the match from counting toward the prize. (Note=screenshots and demos can be set to record automatically under UTCOMP setting.)
-You cannot create more than one account per ladder.
-You can participate in both the US and the Euro ladder. However, we will not combine points. We will use the ladder you earned the most points in toward the drawing.
-We will add the total points in the regular season (max of 15 points) with points earned in playoffs (max 10 points) to give your total points (max of 25 points). Each point is worth 1 drawing for the prize.
Example:
Player A finishes the season with 10 matches played. Player B finishes with 19 matches played. Player A received 5 points (5 drawings) toward the prize. Player B received 9.5 points (9 drawings). So at the end of the season Player A has 5 drawing and Player B has 9 drawings. If these are the only eligible players then Player A would have a 5/14 chance of winning (35.7% chance) and Player B would have a 9/14 chance (64.3% chance) since he played more games earning more points. Both could earn even more points if they play in the playoffs. The winner will be drawn out of a hat, thus the more drawings the better the odds.
Prize
The winner of the drawing will win a Razer Mamba gaming mouse. For those not familiar with this mouse it gives you the option to play in wired or wireless mode. It has up to 5600 dpi. It is $130 value. For more details see http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-mamba.
If you do not want the Razor Mamba we give the option to exchange for $100 cash.
FAQs
Q-Why do you reward people just for playing and not winning?
A- We reward both. The playoffs were designed to earn more points based on skill. The further you advance in the playoffs the more points you will earn, and if you win in the winners bracket you earn double points. We also give points for the losers so that they have an incentive to join and play. Forfeits will take away points to warn people not to join the playoffs unless they intend to play their matches. The regular season we reward you just for playing because in Season 1 people quit after a couple matches because they figured there would be no point of playing if they can’t even win a match. At least by earning points even people that have a losing record have something to strive for. The more matches we can get everyone to play the more accurate the ELO rating will divide the ladder at the end of the season to place people in the proper playoff bracket.
Q- What do I have to do to make sure I am earning points?
A- All you have to do is upload your screenshot of every match and keep your demos. And then just play as many matches as you can. We will be checking screenshots of every match to reward points. No screenshot, then no points. Don’t rely on your opponent to upload them.

Fraggers,
Do you like competing online and at LAN Centers?
Do you live on the East Coast (NC, SC, VA, or TN)?
If you answered yes, to both of these questions then the post below should be right up your alley.
-----------------------------------------------------

Triangle Gaming are thrilled to announce a great new partnership. They are teaming with one of the hottest and fastest growing online gaming communities FraggedNation and the biggest and most state of the art LAN centers in the Eastern U.S. RUaGamer.
All three partners are excited to bring gamers from both the online gaming world and LAN gamers from the mid Eastern U.S. region the best new and highly anticipated competitive gaming experience, known as "The Mid East FraggedNation Live Series."
At the heart of the partnership, Triangle Gaming brings both FraggedNation and RUaGamer together in order to offer you, the gamers, this highly anticipated gaming event. Triangle Gaming has been dubbed the information hub for local video gaming, giving gamers access to the latest local news, information, tournaments, and events. The Mid East FraggedNation Live Series is one of those special events that they are sharing with you.
Next is FraggedNation, who will host the online portion of the series. FraggedNation, or FN for short, are currently exclusively hosting the Machinima Frag Cup #2 where over $5000 of cash and prizes are on the line and they also offer tons free ladders and tournaments for a wide range of games on all consoles.
RUaGamer are the next part of the series and will be hosting the LAN portion. RUaGamer are the heart of LAN gaming in North Carolina and have 20 Gaming PC's on 22" Monitors, 24 Xbox 360's on 26" HD LCD Televisions, 8 Xbox 360's on 42"HD LCD Televisions and Repose E-1000 Multimedia gaming chairs and more goodies for teh ultimate LAN gaming experience.
So just what in the world is "The Mid East FraggedNation Live Series"? Well it is a gaming competition like no other. The event is actually split into 3 different gaming series, each offering $1000 in cash + prizes guaranteed. Each series consists of a different game which starts as an "online" qualifying ladder competition, followed by the Live and exciting LAN tournament finals. The overall competition is geared towards those gamers living in NC, VA, TN, and SC, or those willing to make a trip to NC. Why only these states? Well the online portion would normally mean that anyone from across the country, or even the world could take part however the 2nd half of the series is the LAN tournament and since this is hosted by RUaGamer, finalists need to be able to travel to NC to take part.

As previously mentioned The Mid East FraggedNation Live Series will actually be 3 different game series. Those three games and team sizes that are going to rock gamers to their core are:
Halo 3 2v2 for Xbox
- Online ladder: June 28th - July 26th.
- Live tournament: August 7th.
Modern Warfare 2 2v2 for Xbox
- Online ladder: July 5th - August 2nd.
- Live tournament: August 14th.
Starcraft II 1v1 for PC
- Online ladder: August 16th - September 13th.
- Live tournament: September 25th.
You might be asking how is the The Mid East FraggedNation Live Series going to work? Well that is where the strategic partnership comes into play.
Firstly FraggedNation will host the official qualifying ladders for each game. Gamers will get online, drop over to FN, create an account (if they dont already have one), deposit money into the FN credit system and buy into the ladder(s) that they are wanting to compete in. How much are the buy-ins and why should you pay it? Well "Buy-ins" will be $25 per person, but that is pennies when you hear that each series has $1000 in cash + prizes guaranteed! The first place prize is $500, then $300 for second place prize and $200 for third place prize. Not only that, but the top seeds of each ladder will receive free admission to the live tournament Yup, you heard right. Work your way to the top places in the ladder and you get free admission to the Live LAN event.
That takes us to the next part of the partnership. After each ladder has run its course, the players and teams will be seeded for the 2nd half of each series, which is the Live LAN tournament which will be hosted by the largest LAN center in North Carolina, RUaGamer. So for those lucky ladder participants that move onto the Live LAN tournament (and remembering that the top seeds gain entry to the live event for free), there will be the added atmosphere of hearing and seeing your opponent weep as you rumble your way to victory to claim your cash and prizes.
When does all this action start? There are several ways to find out. First check your local LAN centers for the Mid East FraggedNation Live Series fliers, or even give RUaGamer a call at (919)-238-9714. Other ways are to check out the announcements or forums at http://trianglegaming.com/ and www.fraggednation.com
If you are rusty on your Halo 3, MW2 or SCII skills, or need to find a worthy teammate, head on over to the forums on www.fraggednation.com and post in the clan recruitment section or check out the game specific forums in order to chat with fellow experienced online gamers to get some winning tips.
Don't hesitate ... head over to FraggedNation now and create and account in preparation of the event of the summer.
Please click the links below for more information on the Tournament you wish to join:
Halo 3 - 2v2
