The Owner/Admin of this ladder has disabled the Match Finder. This is probably due to a difficult process of assigning Referees to matches. If you feel the Match Finder and 'Open Challenge' concept is appropriate for this ladder, please be sure to bring it up to the Owner/Admin directly, or in the public forums.

| 1. General Rules | |
|---|---|
| 1.1 | GeneralRules: It is every player's responsibility to read, understand, and follow not only the General Rules pertaining to this PC-UT99 platform, but all of FraggedNation General Rules.
(Please note that specific ladder rules may vary and normally have precedence over General Rules as long as they don't directly contradict or undermine FN General Rules) Please See General Rules for Information on anything and everything you do not see listed in these ladder specific rules. | 2. Tweaks and Adjustments | |
| 2.1 | Keybinds are legal in FN provided they are not programmed to activate tweaks/hacks deemed illegal at FN. Keybinds of illegal tweaks/hacks are looked upon as a loaded cheat used or not. |
| 2.2 | Any tweaks and or adjustments made to a stock Install of Unreal Tournament that results in server anticheat Flags, kicks, bans are the clients responsibility. |
| 2.3 | The only skins/models allowed in matches are "stock" skins/models. These are skins/models that came with UT originally or one of the subsequent bonus packs. Bright skins are not allowed. |
| 2.4 | Mouse Axis Adjustments: Mouse X and Y axis sensitivities may never be set or adjusted to values less than 1. Values lower than this creates a type of CV lock which is illegal. |
| 2.5 | Netspeed adjustments may be made to fine tune internet connections but should not be abused. FN deems netspeed values legal between the ranges of 5000 and 20000. Values, out of this range, Are considered an illegal tweak. |
| 2.6 | Penalties wil be processed on a case by case basis. In all cases the severity of advantage gained will be gauged against said penalties. |
| 2.7 | Use of any form of graphic/game tweaks used to create an unfair advantage during play is illegal from the UT99 Ladders. This includes (but is not restricted to) No smoke tweaks, No shadow tweaks, lilt tweak, Center view tweaks, timers/HUD hacks. This list is not limited to just the above mentioned tweaks but anything else being used that has not been approved. |
| 3. Private Ladder Owners | |
| 3.1 | FraggedNation prides itself on allowing privately owned ladders to run their course with minimal interference or influence from FN
staff; however there are some areas mentioned above that apply to private ladders and remain the jurisdiction of FraggedNation as well. Mainly issues of cheating or misconduct to a point that it spills over the borders of good sportsmanship and treatment of other members of this community. In these cases, FraggedNation will not turn a blind eye to areas of misconduct solely because it pertains to a privately owned ladder. Private owners, we ask that you do your absolute best in all areas of your ownership to provide a fair, fun, and impartial environment for the members of this community. It has become evident, despite any disclaimer, that although private ladders are run by private owners, when criticism arises, it usually has FraggedNation tagged to it, thus private ladders, like it or not are a reflection of FraggedNation, a reflection we care about. Public Admins who participate in or are owners of private ladders are still expected to conduct themselves as professionals and representatives of FraggedNation. Your status as a public official doesn't change because you are involved in a private ladder, nor should what is expected of you. |
| 4. Rosters | |
| 4.1 | Each person must play with the name that appears on their team Roster in full. No abbreviations or different names will be accepted. No additional time will be allotted for this other than what is currently in place, five minutes. Meaning that if a team doesn't have all its members correctly named and ready for play in those five minutes, the ref can call that map in favor of the team properly prepared. |
| 5. Other Important Ladder Notes | |
| 5.1 | Penalty Logs All penalties for the season are recorded. Each week team captains will receive a private message with the penalties against their team. If you do not receive a weekly update, it simply means no penalties have been applied against your team for the week. Repetitive Penalties During the season teams will lose ladder standings rating points for repetitive rule breaking. First instance of the same rule broken three times = -25 rating points Second = -30 rating points Third = -40 rating points Fourth = -50 rating points |
| 6. Unsportsmanlike Play | |
| 6.1 | Unsportsmanlike conduct will be any action that can be deemed as offensive to the opposing team or the referee. Do not insult, belittle, or mock your opponent or referee. If there is a disagreement let your ref and team captain handle it and deal with it in a mature manner. Do not challenge a decision made by the ref in game, if you want to discuss it in a respectful manner do so after the game. Any disrespect towards your referee or opponent will result in a penalty, skipping the warning stage, this is your warning. Penalties: 1st Offense: 5 point team penalty 2nd Offense: Team forfeits match Always show respect to your referee. Please remember that a referee is donating their time to watch you play, and is merely enforcing the ladder rules. If you have a problem with a ref or with a call or decision made, please contact the head admin of the ladder and/or submit a trouble ticket. |
| 7. Substitution / Number of Players | |
| 7.1 | This is a 4v4, 5v5, or 6v6 ladder and matches should be played as such. If in the event a team does not have enough players, then the match must be played 4v4. If there is not enough people to play 4v4 then the match should be rescheduled for a later date. Again the team with the most players will report a 1-0, 1-0 to avoid ladder challenging upset. |
| 7.2 | If BOTH TEAMS agree they will be allowed to go up to 6 vs 6 players. The minimum is 4 vs 4 and the maximum is 6 vs 6. |
| 7.3 | If a player loses connection during a map, he/she is allowed no more than four minutes to reconnect OR get a substitution in his/her place. If this is not accomplished within the four minutes, refs will have no choice but to enforce a forfeit for that map in favor of the full team. |
| 7.4 | All maps must finish with the same amount of players in which it started. If complaints about early disconnects are filed via support ticket, matches will be reviewed and penalties may be applied. Penalties for repetitive concerns regarding this issue can range from team points reduction to map forfeiture. Please do your best to bring in substitutes when needed to keep the "playing field" fair to everyone. |
| 7.5 | Each team is allowed two substitutions per match, no questions asked. |
| 8. Choosing Color | |
| 8.1 | In the event that two teams cannot come to an agreement on who is to be what color, the first team to have ALL of their players in the server may CHOOSE the color they will be for the MATCH. |
| 9. Match Play | |
| 9.1 | It is the responsibility of each member to have the required maps downloaded BEFORE match time. Failure to do so could result in a forced forfeit for that map. Matches will start no later than ten minutes past the scheduled time. After ten minutes, the team with all four players will win the first map by forfeit Should a match start on time and/or before the ten minute cut-off, teams will have five minutes from map switch to get all players clicked in for the second map. Same thing for the third. Again here, the team that is prepared to play will win the map by forfeit. Matches need to start on time for a variety of reasons. It is the Captains responsibility to have a team prepared. If neither team is prepared, you will be asked by the ref to reschedule the match. |
| 9.2 | In the event a team shows up with only three players and the other team has at least 4, the team with the most players will report a 1-0, 1-0 for the first and second map. Both teams will agree to try and reschedule the match either during the season or during the "down time" at the end of the season. Making up matches during the season is preferred to avoid too much downtime. If the match for some reason is unable to be made up, the win might stick or the match will be deleted. This will be decided on a case by case basis. For example, the team with three players whom took the loss tried and has proof of trying to reschedule the match but the opponents Captains are not working with them--more then likely, this match would be deleted. Again we must try to make up matches. No forfeits will be awarded for a team not having enough players. |
| 10. Penalties | |
| 10.1 | Some slow, minimal movement while crouched is allowed. Penalties for Running and Gunning type play will be assessed as follows: 1st offense: Warning 2nd offense: 1 Frag 3rd offense: 3 Frags 4th offense: forfeit of the map |
| 10.2 | No more than 3 players are allowed to be in the same place at the same time for an extended period of time. If the area is large enough to support 3 players, they should all be spread out. There will be only one warning for the entire match for each team. 1st offense: Warning Please note: Warnings and penalty frags are issued to the entire team, not the individual person. Warnings and penalties are carried to each map and do not reset at the beginning of each map. |
| 10.3 | You will not be penalized for hiding. Hiding is part of the camping game. However, this does not mean you can jump in a box and stay "hidden" there. As long as you are actively peeking out every 60 seconds, you are considered to be sniping. Use cover! Duck behind cover! Especially if you are taking fire, there is no rule here saying you HAVE to poke out there and take the bullet. If you are seen hiding in a box, or in a room waiting for someone to come in, you will be warned for in-activity. Again, you need to be actively looking around every 60 seconds at least. Multiple reminders about this during a match can lead to a support ticket against your team which can ultimately lead to a deduction in your ranking points. |
| 10.4 | When a Team Challenges another they must pick a reasonable date / time in relation to their opponent. Reasonable is defined as 4pm EST or earlier on a weekend day. Weekdays are optional only if both teams are in the same time zone or at least have a max variance of 3-hours and the start time is no later than 9:15pm local time for either team. Failure to respect this rule will result in receiving penalty points equal to what the loss points would have been for that match. |
| 10.5 | Leaving Trans Lying Around Leaving your transporter behind or in a different location is not allowed. You cannot leave your trans on one side of the map, leave and then trans back to avoid bullets or seek targets. Penalties will be issued as follows. First offense: warning 2nd offense: 1 frag penalty 3rd offense: 3 Frag Penalty 4th offense: forfeit of the map |
| 10.6 | Auto Taunts Auto Taunts will not be allowed what so ever. Before you enter a match make sure you turn them off, the penalties will be handed out as follows. First offense: warning 2nd offense: 1 frag penalty 3rd offense: 3 frag penalty 4th offense: forfeit of the map |
| 10.7 | Hunting If your health constantly remains below 50, this will clearly indicate hunting. First offense: warning Second offense: 1 frag penalty Third offense: 3 frag penalty Fourth offense: map forfeit |
| 10.8 | Illegal Texture Camping Auto penalties will be issued for camping in "soft textures." Examples include but are not limited to: Flames, lights, fake glass, plants etc. You may camp next to or around the soft textures, just not "in" them. First offense: 1 frag penalty Second offense: 2 frag penalty Third offense: 3 frag penalty |
| 10.9 | Ill-gotten frags will result in an automatic penalty. The only exception will be a spawn killing offense and the backing out of range to kill someone offense which will remain a 3 frag penalty each and every time. Examples of "ill-gotten" frags: Assault Kills from within a soft texture, flame, plant, leaf, trophy, etc. Kills from camping an illegal spot, elevator housing, elevator pathway, or visually camping a spiral. The penalty is the subtraction of the ill-gotten frag, "minus one." |
| 10.10 | Please review, "Other Important Ladder Notes." |
| 11. Ladder Rules | |
| 11.1 | No Running and Gunning While there are many different styles of this game, this style is the complete opposite of Run and Gun or Freestyle type play. Running and Gunning is any movement other then crouched movement, while engaging an opponent. You are supposed to camp, slow minimal movement is allowed. Examples:
Please note: Warnings and penalty frags are issued to the entire team, not the individual person. Warnings and penalties are carried to each map and do not reset at the beginning of each map. |
| 11.2 | This is extreme, hardcore camping. The idea of this style is to gain frags unseen and unheard. Minimal, slow, and silent movement is allowed. Running, transing or jumping around as if to say, "here I am can you get me?" is not hardcore camping. Find a hiding spot and stay put! Be silent! And be patient! |
| 11.3 | No Spawn Killing No warnings, -3 frag penalty every time. See the "penalty" section. Spawn protection exists for about ten seconds to ensure that all players spawning in get a fair chance of finding a camping spot. There are two ways to spawn kill, neither is allowed.
Please note that it is encouraged to communicate to your team when you've encountered an opponent in or out of spawn protection. For example, "spawner leaving my area, went to rooftop." Or, "I saw a target on the chair while I was spawning." In other words, you can't spawn kill, but you can most certainly communicate with your team. |
| 11.4 | Spawn kill attempts If you are caught firing at or around a spawner you will be warned for a "spawn kill attempt." If you are successful in killing the spawner, you will be penalized 3 frags for spawn killing. Spawners have brighter colors AND pulsate. So again, it is illegal to shoot at or around a spawner who is trying to find a camping spot. First offense: Warning for spawn kill attempt. Second offense: 1 frag penalty for spawn kill attempt. Third offense: 3 frag penalty for spawn kill attempt. Point is: Don't shoot at spawners! |
| 11.5 | No Close Kills!!! Sniping is done from a distance, period. A mod will be in place to ensure this. More often than not, a "re-locating" player moves in on a "camped" player, both usually have the reflex to shoot, if the camped player loses, nine times out of ten they feel assaulted. Since it is illegal to assault, it is illegal to kill up close. In your scope, you must be at a range of 17.5 to be far enough away. Make the first shot count-if it doesn't, move on! |
| 11.6 | Leaving your trans out Leaving your transporter behind or in a different location to avoid being shot is not allowed. You cannot leave your trans in one spot of the map, leave, and then trans back to avoid bullets or to seek opponents. See the "penalty" section. |
| 11.7 | No backing out of range while shooting No warnings, -3 frag penalty every time. See the "penalty" section. If you move in on a player and you are too close to kill them, you are obligated to go find another spot. Your opponent is obligated to allow you to go. If any player is seen shooting while backing out of range there will be a -3frag penalty. This goes both ways, if a player is caught firing at someone trying to move on, they will receive the same penalty. Again, true sniping is done from a distance. After two minutes, the opponent you came into contact with, will be considered "fair game." Let me also point out that it is very important to leave your opponent's spot as fast as possible. Failure to do so allows your opponent to tell their team where you are, and if you don't get out of there quick enough you risk being shot by your opponent's teammate. |
| 11.8 | To encourage crouched movement only, a "head-shot" bonus has been implemented. |
| 11.9 | Hunting Hunting is not allowed. You are expected to find a camping spot and camp. If you are constantly on the move, but stopping to regain health and then start moving again, you are considered to be hunting. See the "Penalty" section. |
| 12. Challenging | |
| 12.1 | All challenges will be made on the hour. Challenges are not be scheduled for the 15, 30 or 45 minutes after the hour. Example: matches WILL be scheduled for 3:00 PM but NOT 3:15, 3:30, or 3:45. |
